Arsenal hold an interest in Malang Sarr and had talks with his representatives about a summer move, but they haven’t submitted a contract offer yet.

Goal report that Arsenal held talks over a move for Malang Sarr, but are yet to table a contract offer to the 21-year-old. Despite some reports from other sources that a deal is on the table for the defender, Goal claim this isn’t the case.

Torino are particularly hot on Sarr’s case, and currently ahead of Arsenal in the race for his signature. The Gunners are struggling to make any firm commitments to potential signings given the uncertainty regarding the remainder of the season.

Arsenal could realistically still finish in the Europa League places in the Premier League. Even if they don’t, they have the chance to qualify through winning the FA Cup. Though that’s significantly less realistic, given the strong competition for the trophy.

However, until they know for sure whether they’re in or not, it’s hard to establish their summer budget.

Sarr made 20 appearances for Nice this season, starting at either centre-back or left-back. He’s a left-footed defender, a strong passer and loves to play on the front foot, leading to plenty of interceptions.

Arsenal actually spent time scouting Sarr back in 2016, if you believe the reports from back then. Maybe they’ll finally bring him to North London this summer.
