Unai Emery has reportedly turned down the chance to manage Real Betis due to his Sevilla past.

The former Arsenal coach was sacked by the club at the tailend of last year after delivering some of the most mind-numbingly boring football ever seen in London.

Despite clear evidence on the pitch that he was nothing more than a mid-table manager, he has spent his time since leaving London moaning about how it was all everybody else’s fault.

Still, with his Europa League track record, he was always going to be on the radar of a number of clubs and it is Real Betis who have reportedly made a move for him. They are currently 14th in La Liga.

Emery, however, has declined the role as he feels it would be a betrayal of his Sevilla past due to their fierce rivalry.

That is, of course, an honourable stance but I bet you can’t find a single Arsenal fan who wouldn’t love to see him rock up at Tottenham.

After Jose Mourinho has finished destroying them, of course.
