Mikel Arteta showed both passion and a level head in his celebration of Arsenal’s winner on Sunday, which the fans seemed to enjoy.

Arsenal put their supporters through the usual rollercoaster of emotions on Sunday, conceding late on before finding a winner in injury time, and Mikel Arteta was just as invested in the moment as everyone else.

Watching intently as the play developed, Arteta leapt up and punched the air after the ball hit the back of the net. He didn’t savour the moment for long, though, turning to his bench and signalling to make a substitution.

The Arsenal fans certainly enjoyed the reaction, particularly given the team’s ability to throw away a lead in recent years. The clarity of thought at that moment to bring on another centre-back could’ve made the difference.

It’s great to see a head coach who cares about the team getting a result, but it’s even better to see one making smart decisions and always thinking about the next step. Arteta appears to show both sides in this brief clip.
