Matyas Esterhazy, agent to Dominik Szoboszlai, says a number of Premier League clubs are after his client, though he wouldn’t specifically confirm Arsenal.

The Mirror claim Arsenal and Chelsea are keeping tabs on £25m-rated midfielder Dominik Szoboszlai. Mikel Arteta reportedly sees the player as a potential replacement for Mesut Özil.

“I can confirm a number of the top Premier League clubs are interested in Domini,” Esterhazy said. “I can not confirm or deny specific clubs.”

The £25m valuation given by the Mirror is in slight contrast with reports from Italy, where they claim the player has a €24m release clause payable in three instalments. They also heavily indicate interest from AC Milan, however, adding to the competition.

Even with Arsenal’s current financial situation, you’d think they could afford €8m a year for three years. Even £25m isn’t an outrageous fee if the club make one or two sales first, regardless of how COVID-19 is affecting finances.

Szoboszlai is surely worth the investment as well. He’s not playing in the strongest league in Austria, but plenty of top players have made the switch from Salzburg to some of the biggest clubs around Europe (Haaland, Keita, Upamecano, Mane, etc.).

At just 19 years old, he’s contributing to goal after goal from midfield. It’s 10 goals and 16 assists for the season so far. Arsenal could use some of that in the middle.
