Spanish journalist Antonio Ruiz reports that Arsenal are the best-placed team to sign Thomas Partey as things stand, with parts of his current club Atletico Madrid starting to give up on keeping him.

There are several teams in for Partey, according to the report. However, the Premier League is seemingly his ‘destiny’ and Arsenal lead the race.

Fabrizio Romano also provided an update in the last 24 hours, writing that four clubs made contact with Partey over a move. The player is still in talks with Atletico over a new contract too, but with no decision yet.

Meanwhile, Goal write that Partey has an offer to triple his salary with Arsenal. Atletico are rebuffing any approach from the Gunners, insisting they want to keep the midfielder, but they’re struggling to convince him to renew.

Partey made his first appearance following La Liga’s return on Sunday. He played the full 90 minutes in a 1-1 draw, winning eight out of eight physical duels and completing both of his attempted dribbles.

Even though Atletico didn’t get the win, it doesn’t seem like all the transfer talk is affecting Partey’s performances.
