All Nigeria Soccer report that Arsenal are still in talks with Emeka Obasi, the agent of 18-year-old winger Bukayo Saka. The teenager is about to enter the final 12 months of his first professional deal, and he still hasn’t yet signed an extension.

At this stage, there’s no agreement between the two parties, though both are still trying to strike one.

Unfortunately, we’re now running the risk that Saka lets his deal end in 2021 before leaving on a free transfer. He’d be able to discuss a pre-contract move to a foreign club in January, or a Premier League move next May.

The good news is that they’re still in talks, at least. Whatever the reason for the delay, it’s not enough for Saka and his agent to pull out of negotiations altogether.

Saka made 29 senior appearances for Arsenal this season before the English football shutdown. He scored three goals and provided 10 assists, despite often playing as a full-back.

The academy graduate’s favoured position is on the left-wing, and he also played on the left of a three in midfield in one of the recent friendlies. He’s certainly showing a lot of versatility right now. It would be great to get him tied down before next season starts.
