As you can see in the screenshot above, George Lewis changed his Instagram profile picture to a photoshop of him wearing an Arsenal shirt this week. Though the account isn’t verified, we can confirm the profile does belong to the 19-year-old winger.

This follows reports we covered on Saturday with quotes from Fram Larvik director Jostein Jensen and the player’s agent Cheikh Diaw both confirming the transfer to Arsenal. Lewis played for Fram Larvik last season.

“Yes, we can confirm that,” Jensen said. “I have been told that he has signed for Arsenal.”

“He’s ready for Arsenal, yes,” Diaw added. “The club has not made it official yet, but he has signed for the club. They are really looking forward to getting over George, who they see as an exciting player.”

Clearly, the player is getting tired of waiting for Arsenal’s confirmation, and just wants to share his excitement at joining his new club. You can hardly blame him for that.

Lewis is a right-footed winger and can play on either side of the pitch. Arsenal plan to use him in Steve Bould’s u23 team first, but they also gave him a few days with the first team when he was on trial earlier this year.

It’s hard to say much about his ability without seeing him play, but he’s reportedly fast and skilful. We know he did enough in his trial to convince the Gunners hierarchy, so that’s something at least. Other than that, we’ll have to wait for him to line up for the u23s.
