Inter Milan are trying to sign Arsenal striker Alexandre Lacazette, but the Frenchman doesn’t want the move, according to reports in France.

L’Equipe (via GFFN) report that Inter Milan made movements towards Alexandre Lacazette, as they pursue a replacement for Barcelona-linked Lautaro Martinez and current PSG loanee Mauro Icardi – who could also leave this summer.

Unfortunately for them, Lacazette doesn’t plan to join. He’s “not interested” in the move, which seemingly kills the rumour from the off.

You do wonder what Arsenal’s view on the situation is. The club know their two star strikers are slowly running down their contracts. They may see selling Lacazette as the best way to raise money for replacements.

On the other hand, Lacazette committing his immediate future to Arsenal would somewhat lessen the fears that they might end the summer without either of the two. That would leave them relying on Nketiah, Martinelli or youth options to lead the line.

Plus, is it that Lacazette doesn’t want to leave, or he doesn’t want to join Inter Milan? Perhaps he has his heart set on that move to Atletico Madrid he almost made a few years ago. Turning down Inter doesn’t necessarily rule out a transfer.

Lacazette is up to nine goals and three assists this season, making 26 appearances. He scored three and assisted one in his four appearances in all competitions immediately before the league shutdown, despite losing his PL starting spot to Eddie Nketiah.
