Fanatik report that Mikel Arteta isn’t considering Mohamed Elneny for next season. Arsenal are reportedly only planning to reintegrate the loan players Arteta specifically requests, and Elneny isn’t one of them.

As a result, the Turkish outlet expects Elneny to leave Arsenal again this summer. Besiktas are preparing to make another move as a result.

Elneny made 28 appearances for Besiktas before the pandemic. They had a near-universally disastrous Europa League campaign, but did make it up to fifth in the league with eight games left.

The Arsenal loanee barely missed a game when available, bar one cup clash. However, he did sit out for four matches through suspension. He picked up a red card on his debut for the first three and later missed one game for a yellow card ban.

Overall, it seems like Besiktas are happy with him. It’s just hard to see them paying up on his option to buy, particularly given the current financial climate. He still has a contract until 2022, so realistically, another loan seems like the only way to move him on.
