Arsenal are prioritising a move for young Valencia winger Ferran Torres if one of their forward options leaves this summer, according to a report.

Jordan Choco of Soccer Link claims Ferran Torres of Valencia is one of the Arsenal priority signings this summer if either Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang or Alexandre Lacazette leave the club. Atletico Madrid are also in contact with Torres’ agent.

Torres mostly plays on the wings, only very occasionally appearing at centre-forward. As a result, you’d imagine the plan would be to play the remaining striker in the middle and have Torres play out wide. It’s clearly not a like-for-like swap.

The 20-year-old has six goals and seven assists this season in a strong campaign so far. He’s up to 35 appearances, and his contract only lasts until 2021.

You can certainly imagine Arsenal pushing for a cut-price deal for a player with high potential right now. Then again, with possible competition from other top clubs in Spain and abroad, the 20-year-old probably wouldn’t come cheap enough.

Until the Premier League is back and Arsenal end the season strongly, the chances of a serious move for a young winger at a Champions League club (they were in it this season anyway) remain very low.
