ESPN report that Arsenal and Mikel Arteta are keen on Adil Aouchiche, who scored nine goals in five matches at last year’s u17 European Championship. He’s currently refusing to sign his first professional contract with PSG.

Despite the 17-year-old making three senior appearances already, the player and his family prefer to continue his development elsewhere. Saint-Etienne, Lille and Bordeaux all held talks, but his financial demands put them off.

Aouchiche wants a €4m signing-on fee and €25,000-a-week. Arsenal hold an interest, in keeping with their recent strategy making relatively low-cost but high-potential signings like Guendouzi and Martinelli.

The young French u18 international scored his first senior goal in one of those three senior appearances for PSG this season. He also got a goal and a couple of assists in his four UEFA Youth League appearances.

He’d make an exciting addition to Arsenal’s youth ranks if they can land him.
