Adrien Rabiot is back on the market and drawing interest from Arsenal, who have opened talks with Juventus over a transfer.

French outlet Le10Sport report that Arsenal are in talks with Juventus over the signing of Adrien Rabiot this summer. They also confirm competition for the deal from Everton, pointing out that Carlo Ancelotti worked with the midfielder previously.

The two clubs will reportedly have to pay over €30m to land their man, which stretches the plausibility of the claims a little thin. Whilst it’s perfectly believable that Juventus would ask for that much, it’s not so likely Arsenal could afford to pay it right now.

Rabiot only joined the Serie A club last summer. He took a while to get into the team, leading to reports that he was struggling to settle. When he got into the team more regularly, the pandemic brought the season to a halt.

After that, rumours about Rabiot going on strike as a result of wage reductions at the club kickstarted the exit talk again. However, he seemingly put these reports to bed with a recent Instagram post.

True or not, controversy continues to follow Rabiot around. At this point, I wouldn’t rule out the 25-year-old moving on again this summer. I just doubt Arsenal can afford the transfer, given the risk accompanying it.
