Marcin Borzecki of Polish outlet TVP Sport reports that Schalke are planning to make a move for Sead Kolasinac this summer. They’ve already informed his agent of their interest, with a transfer estimated at €20m.

The ball is in the court of Arsenal and the player himself now. If the Gunners choose to sell, Schalke are ready to buy, but they’d need Kolasinac to take a wage cut.

Reports from elsewhere suggest Arsenal are close to the signing of Layvin Kurzawa on a free transfer, with some even reporting that only the official announcement remains.

In our coverage of the report, we pointed out that probably spells the end for Kolasinac’s time at Arsenal.

Kieran Tierney only just arrived, and he’s young with a lot of potential. Bukayo Saka makes a good alternative too, though we don’t know how his contract negotiations will conclude. If Arsenal are signing another left-back, they’re probably letting Kolasinac go.

The 26-year-old made 20 appearances and provided two assists before the league shutdown.
