Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang is now considering renewing his contract with Arsenal, despite all the offers to move elsewhere this summer.
Spanish outlet Sport report that Aubameyang is getting tired, and thinking about renewing his deal with Arsenal. After all the transfer speculation around his future, he may well end up staying in North London long-term.
The striker has plenty of offers, according to the report. Barcelona, Real Madrid, Chelsea and Manchester United all hold an interest in him. But even though everything previously indicated he would leave, the situation changed recently.
Arsenal were open to selling the 30-year-old if he decided not to renew. Sport claim the most feasible option now is that he rejects all transfer offers and stays with the Gunners.
If true, this is obviously great news. Aubameyang has 20 goals this season already, after scoring 31 in all competitions last season. Under Mikel Arteta, he is up to seven goals in 10 games, a very solid start.
I wouldn’t say Sport are a particularly reliable source, but neither are the outlets linking him to Chelsea and the rest. It’s mostly guesswork from both sides at this stage. At least some of those guesses are going in Arsenal’s favour now.
