Thomas Reis described Jordi Osei-Tutu as a huge talent, suggesting VfL Bochum could start the Arsenal loanee alongside Simon Zoller – before their game’s postponement.

Up until Friday afternoon, the plan was for VfL Bochum’s game against Heidenheim to go ahead, albeit behind closed doors. Bochum boss Thomas Reis held his usual pre-match press conference, speaking about Arsenal loanee Jordi Osei-Tutu.

Osei-Tutu returned to the Bochum team recently, starting against Sandhausen and Darmstadt. He took Simon Zoller’s place at right-wing, with Zoller out with injury. Given Zoller’s return, Reis answered questions about what would happen next.

“Zoller and Jordi Osei-Tutu both have their own skillsets,” Reis said. “Zolli has scored important goals, he’s done a lot for the team. Jordi has huge talent, is really dynamic. Perhaps we’ll start with both of them tomorrow.”

Unfortunately, the threat of coronavirus ended up convincing the 2. Bundesliga to follow other countries’ leads and suspend their matches. As a result, Saturday’s clash with Heidenheim is off, for the time being.

Osei-Tutu is up to 13 appearances for the season, some at right-back, others on the right-wing. He has a couple of goals and one assist, getting one of each in the recent Sandhausen clash. It’s a shame the season is grinding to a halt just as he was playing more.
