Le10Sport report that Lille are deep in negotiations for the summer transfer of Gabriel Magalhaes. There’s no deal just yet, but the Lille camp are fairly optimistic of an agreement in principle shortly.

The outlet doesn’t seem to have specific information about the buyer. They repeat previous suggestions that Leicester City, Arsenal, Everton and Paris Saint-Germain all hold an interest. PSG aren’t particularly in need of reinforcements at left-centre-back though.

The price set by Lille is reportedly between €25m and €30m for the Brazilian defender.

The Athletic first seriously reported Arsenal’s interest in the defender. They named the Gunners as one of several clubs paying close attention to him. A January move was difficult given their preference for a loan deal though.

Meanwhile, the player himself hinted he’d welcome a transfer to England. Magalhaes told the media in France he doesn’t know if he’ll join Arsenal, but he’d love to play in the Premier League.

The 22-year-old is up to 34 appearances for the season, helping Lille keep clean sheets in his last five league games. They lost 2-1 to Marseille in the only recent match he missed.
