According to the Guardian, the FA are not expecting Phil Neville to quit as the boss of England’s women’s team despite rumours he was considering handing in his resignation.

With seven defeats in their last 11 games, Katie Whyatt reports in the Daily Telegraph that Neville has come under increased scrutiny, especially given the quality of the opposition to whom they’ve been losing.

Neville still has 15 months remaining on his contract and Whyatt reports that “a senior FA source has dismissed these suggestions as “nonsense,” despite England’s below-par She Believes performances.

Forward Nikita Parris insisted: “I do trust in what he wants to do. It’s us – we are not delivering.

“Too many of us are living off the hype of the World Cup. We haven’t improved and we have to take responsibility. Phil has protected us for far too long and, ultimately, we have got to step up.”
