Despite a disappointing start with a 0-0 draw to Burnley, Arsenal had a positive February in the Premier League. As a result, it’s not too surprising to see Aubameyang and Mustafi both make WhoScored’s Team of the Month.

Mustafi made the defence that kept clean sheets against Burnley and Newcastle. Admittedly, the performance from the back-four against Everton was significantly less impressive. Sead Kolasinac, Bernd Leno and David Luiz were as culpable as Mustafi for the mistakes on that occasion though – if not more so.

Overall, though, it was a big improvement for the centre-back over his performances earlier in the season. He seemed to be turning over a new leaf under Mikel Arteta.

As for Aubameyang, he also had two good displays and one not-so-good one. He should have scored against Burnley in the first half, but he made up for it with three goals in the next two games.

WhoScored gave Mustafi a 7.59 rating for the month, whilst Aubameyang got 7.77. Let’s hope they can both score similarly in March.
