The Mirror claim Arsenal are looking to test Celtic’s resolve with a bid for Edouard this summer. Mikel Arteta wants to add to his attacking options regardless of what happens with Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, and the France u21 international is catching his eye.

According to the report, Edouard is rated at around £30m. Leicester City and Everton are also chasing him, though the player himself isn’t rushing to leave.

So far this season, Edouard is on 27 goals and 17 assists in 45 matches. He also won a penalty leading to a teammate’s goal and had a shot scored on the rebound. Hence, his Transfermarkt assist total is 19, as they include those as assists.

Essentially contributing to 46 goals in 45 games is a fantastic record. Most of that is in Scottish domestic competition, which isn’t particularly highly-rated. However, he has five goal contributions in six Europa League games, and six in seven European qualifiers.

Plus, it’s worth keeping in mind Moussa Dembele was the last striker to impress at Celtic before moving onto a top-five European league.

Dembele is doing well with Lyon, scoring 20+ goals in consecutive seasons. Funnily enough, that’s actually an improvement on his final season in Scotland.

Perhaps Edouard could have a similar impact in England. Arsenal certainly aren’t against signing players from Celtic, as we saw last summer.
