OKDIARIO report Arsenal are offering Real Madrid the chance to sign Aubameyang this summer. Although Real have other options, the potential lower price of the Gunners striker and the situation of Dani Ceballos are leading them to consider the transfer.

Harry Kane is one of their targets, and he certainly won’t come cheap. Then there’s Erling Haaland, who would reportedly cost €150m this summer before a clause activates in his contract in 2021 to reduce the fee to €75m.

By comparison, Aubameyang is in the final year of his deal and wouldn’t command a fee of anything near €150m. Real Madrid could also use Dani Ceballos in a swap deal, according to the claims.

If the reports are true, Arsenal may be trying to boost the player’s value amid rumours of Barcelona interest. The more clubs they can incite into a bidding war, the better the chance of a payday, if nothing else.

The priority should still be extending Aubameyang’s contract and keeping him. Arsenal don’t have enough goals in the team right now to let 30-a-season walk out the door. If they do have to sell, though, they need enough money to buy a replacement.

Personally, I’m immediately doubtful of any transfer rumours at the moment. With the state of football right now, this is hardly the time to be opening negotiations.
