Valencia midfielder Carlos Soler is on the Arsenal transfer list for this summer, despite signing a new deal in December, according to reports.

The Mirror report Arsenal have actually followed Carlos Soler for a while now. The player’s new deal in December has an £140m buy-out clause, which the club certainly don’t plan to pay, but could still tempt Valencia to sell.

The Gunners made enquiries for the player late last year, with his recent performances impressing them.

Soler is racking up games all over midfield this season. He regularly starts on the left midfield, which is where all three of his goals have come from – including one against Chelsea. He also has appearances on the right and in central midfield though.

In total, the 23-year-old is up to 24 appearances this season for Valencia. He’s in line for a senior call-up with Spain if he keeps up his progress, having played for the u21s at the 2019 Euros. He missed the last international breaks with injury.

Arsenal could certainly do with midfield reinforcements on the left and in the middle. Especially if Ceballos doesn’t join permanently and any of the current options leave. This is one to keep an eye on, but we’ll see how Soler finishes the season first.
