Reported Arsenal target Ousmane Dembele will be sidelined for at least the next six months after undergoing surgery on his leg.

The 22-year-old suffered a ruptured tendon in his right thigh during training at the start of the month.

Dembele has been linked with a move to Arsenal for a couple of years however since last summer there has been very little on the rumour front regarding the club and player.

Speaking in 2018, Sven Mislintat explained just what it was he liked about the player.

“I saw him before he even played one game at Stade Rennes,” he said.

“I’m guessing he did not even know which foot he used, because he did not have to think about that, I immediately felt that he was a very special player, like Shinji Kagawa was. We saw him play 10 times in Japan, but after half an hour I was convinced that no-one could keep up with him, because with one movement he could change the whole game.”

Regardless of this problem, it seemed unlikely Arsenal would try and sign him again this summer, but then who can tell what we’re going to do?
