Mesut Ozil launched his esports team back in 2018 (with Bernd Leno following last year) and has now added one of the best around in nyhrox, also known as Emil Bergquist Pedersen.

In what is a rapidly growing industry, ‘Team Ozil’ was expected to take part in both national and international tournaments after the Arsenal star was named a brand ambassador for the FIFA eWorld Cup back in June 2018.

Just like the ‘real’ football World Cup, players are subject to anti-doping regulations, urine tests and the betting market is monitored for signs of ‘suspicious activity’.
