Sead Kolasinac picked up a significant shoulder injury against Everton at the weekend, according to the latest Arsenal team news update.

Arsenal report that Sead Kolasinac has a ‘significant right shoulder injury’. They’re giving him further specialist assessments this week.

There’s no mention of a dislocated shoulder just yet, which is the only good news. Arsenal explicitly stated it was a ‘dislocated right shoulder’ in their first team news update after Kieran Tierney’s injury in December.

That doesn’t mean it isn’t, or it isn’t something just as serious. But we can keep hoping for a quicker recovery a little longer, at least.

Kieran Tierney and Cedric Soares are both still aiming to return to full training this week. Calum Chambers is out for the long-term, as we know.

Encouragingly, Hector Bellerin, Pablo Mari and Sokratis Papastathopoulos don’t feature on Arsenal’s update. Bellerin clearly didn’t have a setback on his return against Everton, and Sokratis must be over his knee injury.

As for Pablo Mari, he hasn’t made the last couple of team news updates. The suggestion is that he’s ready to feature for Arsenal. It’ll just be a case of finding the right time to introduce him now.
