The former Spain goalkeeper Iker Casillas is to run for the presidency of the Spanish Football Federation.

Casillas, who won 167 caps for his country and now plays for Porto, will stand against the current president, Luis Rubiales, when the election is held this year.

Should Casillas be elected for the four-year term through to 2024, it would signal the end of his playing career.
