Inter Milan will reportedly turn to Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang this summer should Barcelona manage to lure Lautaro Martinez to Spain.

Barcelona are said to be long-time admirers of Martinez, Inter’s 22-year-old centre-forward who has 16 goals in 29 appearances this season an could move for him in the summer. If they do, the Italians will turn to Arsenal, or so the story goes.

The only thing that seems like a certainty at present is that Aubameyang will be off in the summer.

With only one year remaining on his contract and Arsenal at the start of yet another rebuild, it seems highly unlikely he will stick around, even if we do make the Champions League by some sort of Arteta-shaped miracle.

That being said, Auba hankers after a move to one of the big two in Spain. Are they going to want to invest big money in a player who will turn 31 not long after the transfer window opens?

If they don’t, perhaps a strong showing in the remainder of the season and a little Arteta charm could convince the striker to stick the rest of his career on red.
