Serbian outlet Informer report that Arsenal already sent scouts to watch one Crvena Zvezda u19 match against Bayern Munich in November. They plan to do the same as the Serbian youth side face Midtjylland in the next round.

The scout reportedly admitted to keeping an eye on goalkeeper Andrija Katic and left-back Uros Blagojevic in his trips to watch the side.

Katic is 18 years old, and stands at 6’4″. He’s kept four clean sheets in seven UEFA Youth League matches, and saved a penalty to help his team win a shootout in the last round of the competition.

The one huge negative for his campaign was Crvena Zvezda’s disastrous 9-2 defeat to Spurs away from home, though they won 2-0 in the home fixture not long afterwards.

Blagojevic, 17, has also appeared in all seven UEFA Youth League matches so far.

That means the left-back shared in the positives and negatives of the campaign, helping his team reach the last-16 and keep four clean sheets but also playing in that 9-2. He did provide an assist for one of the two goals that day though.

Obviously, it’s difficult to give detailed assessments of players at this level. That’s why Arsenal have to send scouts to watch them, after all. As a regular watcher of the youth teams, the academy could use a left-back and a goalkeeper though.
