Arsenal Youth report that Ryan Alebiosu doesn’t know whether he’s going to get a professional contract with the club yet.

The right-back/right-winger’s scholarship deal runs out in the summer, and he’s trying to convince the club to extend his deal with his performances on the pitch. Unfortunately, an injury is currently holding him back.

Alebiosu is up to nine league appearances for the season, as well as a couple of starts in Arsenal’s FA Youth Cup run to the quarter-finals. He also made his debut for the u23s as a substitute this month.

Having Alebiosu in the squad is certainly a bonus, given he can fill in for a number of positions on the right-hand side. At the same time, he’s not really getting the goals and assists he needs to nail down a spot further forward right now.

The tall 18-year-old did help Arsenal score their opening goal in the last round of the FA Youth Cup. His shot on goal forced a save, rebounding to Greenwood to turn home. He just needs more moments like that between now and the end of the campaign.
