Paris Saint-Germain sporting director Leonardo says they’ve had no contact with Arsenal over the potential transfer of Layvin Kurzawa.

The media linked Layvin Kurzawa to a January transfer to Arsenal earlier this month, but the rumours died down a bit this week. Right now, the most concrete suggestion is that he’ll join on a free transfer in the summer.

Speaking after PSG’s 1-0 victory over FC Lorient, however, Sporting Director Leonardo claimed Arsenal haven’t even made contact with them over a move.

“We have never received an offer, zero, for Kurzawa,” Leonardo said.

“He is playing a lot of matches, he is here. We have not had a concrete offer, he is a player who is also coming to the end of his contract but we have not received anything. Arsenal have never called us, we have nothing.”

Kurzawa is indeed playing regularly at the moment. He started against AS Monaco five days ago, winning a penalty, then again against FC Lorient on Sunday.

PSG are unlikely to let him leave for nothing, and paying a decent fee for a player available for free in a few months doesn’t sound like Arsenal.

The Gunners don’t have to keep PSG informed if they want to agree a pre-contract with Kurzawa though. He’s in the final six months of his deal playing for a foreign club, so he can talk to anyone he wants.

It’s still very possible this is all just agent talk though. If PSG really don’t have any offers to Kurzawa, his agent might want to generate some. What better way to do so than getting his name in the headlines using Arsenal?
