Arsenal face Everton in the Premier League 2 on Monday, looking to keep the pressure on league leaders Chelsea after a couple of games without a win.

Though Arsenal did maintain their 100% record in the Premier League International Cup with a win over Dinamo Zagreb in the game before last, they’ve gone a couple of matches without a victory in the league.

The defeat against Brighton was understandable given Robbie Burton’s red card, whilst the draw against Derby County was actually a good result from 2-0 down against the league leaders at the time. All the same, they’ll want to get back to winning ways now.

Arsenal play Everton at Southport FC’s ground at 19:00 on Monday with the chance to do so. The game is unlikely to be on stream, but we’ll post an update on Twitter if it is.

Everton won the PL2 last season, but they’re having a mixed season this time around. They’ve won four matches, drawn five and lost four so far. They drew 2-2 with Arsenal in August, with Robbie Burton and Tyreece John-Jules on the scoresheet.

Team News

John-Jules is now on loan with Lincoln City, so it will be interesting to see how Folarin Balogun steps up in his absence. Balogun has been a prolific scorer for the last couple of seasons, but he’s usually had John-Jules for help. The two link up very well.

Robbie Burton is back after his one-game suspension, given he only got a second yellow against Brighton. Trae Coyle and Zak Swanson missed the last game with injury, so they’ll be doubts for this one too.

That creates a bit of a problem in forward areas, with John-Jules and Emile Smith Rowe gone too. Arsenal were already a bit low on forwards as it was.

Sam Greenwood may well step up from the u18s to start out wide. After his goal off the bench against Derby, he probably deserves the promotion. Konstantinos Mavropanos is going on loan as well, according to reports, whilst it looks like Harry Clarke is out too.

That doesn’t leave many centre-backs available. Zech Medley and Tobi Omole will probably have to fill in.

The rest of the team should be largely the same as last week. Take a look at our predicted lineup below.
