Shkodran Mustafi signed with a new agency in the last week, and they’re pushing for a meeting with the Arsenal hierarchy over an exit.

Arsenal centre-back Mustafi signed with SBE Management, with the agency announcing the addition to their ranks on social media on Tuesday. Previously, the German defender used his father as an agent, but clearly that wasn’t working out for him.

It wasn’t hard to see that Mustafi wasn’t getting the best possible representation before. He clearly wanted a move in the summer, and Arsenal seemed to want to sell. All the same, they couldn’t drum up any serious interest.

You can’t just blame that on Mustafi’s ability. Plenty of lesser players get big transfers every window thanks to the right agent. At the very least they spend longer in the headlines, with rumours flying around for potential destinations.

The Mirror reported on Saturday that Mustafi and his new agents are pushing for a meeting with the Arsenal hierarchy over an exit. They believe their client needs more game time.

The Gunners could let him leave despite Calum Chambers’ injury, emphasising how bad things are.

I think we’d all quite like a quick and conclusive resolution to this situation now.
