Luka Milivojevic will miss three games through a suspension, including a clash with Arsenal, after picking up a VAR-assisted red card against Derby County on Sunday.

Milivojevic picked up a red card for violent conduct against Derby, ahead of his match against Arsenal.

The midfielder clashed heads with an opponent in the 63rd minute. Michael Oliver gave a yellow at first, but he upgraded to red after consulting a pitch-side monitor. A dismissal for violent conduct means a three-game ban.

Even if Crystal Palace somehow manage to get the punishment downgraded, the player is still going to miss at least one game.

That’s relevant to Arsenal fans, as Palace’s next match is at home to Mikel Arteta’s side. Milivojevic is a prolific scorer against the Gunners, bagging five goals and one assist in six Premier League appearances between the two sides.

Of course, four of those six goal contributions came from penalties. If Arsenal concede another penalty, it’s still likely to result in a goal. Just not quite as likely as when Milivojevic is around.

Perhaps Arteta’s side will find a way to prevent Palace from winning a penalty in the first place. We can always dream.
