Mikel Arteta was full of praise for Arsenal fans after their 1-1 draw against Sheffield United on Saturday.
The Emirates has not been a friendly place for the home side for a long time now, although reports of just how toxic it had become throughout the last years of Arsene Wenger and the short reign of Unai Emery have been greatly exaggerated by an eager press.
With Arteta now at the helm, however, there has been a definite mood change.
“The fans were terrific, they were right behind the team and they appreciated every action as we were pushing them,” Arteta told Arsenal Player after Arsenal’s draw that saw them remain in 10th place, level on 29 points with Everton and Newcastle and one behind Crystal Palace.
“I’m so thankful to them because compared to how it was a month ago, I think it’s completely different.
“We have to keep trying to convincing them and encouraging them to keep doing it, and hopefully they can deserve and enjoy more good results.”
Arsenal should have come away with all three points and you can read in the link below about how they were robbed by officials. Again.
