Mikel Arteta has only been at Arsenal five minutes and already the press in Spain are speculating if he could be heading for Barcelona sooner rather than later.

Look, I think we can all agree that Mikel Arteta has made a much bigger impact, much faster than any of us anticipated.

But it has still only been two games.

I’m like you. I want to believe. I want Arteta to become the lovechild of Arsene Wenger and Pep Guardiola, a coach who wins everything available and restores Arsenal to the top of world football.

Of course I do.

But it has been two games.

It is, therefore, slightly (but only slightly) surprising to read some in the press in Spain suggest that, if things go well enough for Arteta at Arsenal, he could shimmy on over to Spain. he has, after all, been at Barcelona before.

Two games.

Will everyone just came down? You can continue to be stupidly excited inside, we just don’t want to look too stupid if it all goes wrong.

Anyway, the point here is yes, Arteta might one day make his way to Barcelona, but he is at Arsenal now and he’s only just arrived.

So, if you wouldn’t mind just shutting up and letting him settle in before you start your nonsense, Barca, that would be appreciated.

It’s been nice not having to listen to you recently.
