Alexandre Lacazette found the back of the net against Chelsea only to see his effort correctly ruled out for offside. hat’s how it’s been going for the Frenchman in front of goal lately. His last goal came at the start of December against Brighton and his form has been found wanting at times.

Against Chelsea, however, he showed that his game is, and always has been, about more than just scoring goals.

“Amazing. Amazing,” Arteta replied when asked about Lacazette against Chelsea. “That’s right. He sacrificed a lot for the team. Sometimes he may lack a little bit of energy at the end because he’s doing extra work, but I’m so happy with him.”

This season, Laca has scored just five league goals in 16 appearances but it is important to note that he has also been struggling with an ankle problem and also spent most of the season playing in a team that seemed specifically instructed not to score goals.
