Arsenal have finally announced the signing of Australian forward, Caitlin Foord who will seemingly wear the number 19.
The announcement has been expected for a while, especially after the player said goodbye to her former teammates.
Arsenal Women head coach, Joe Montemurro said, “I’m very pleased that Caitlin has joined us. I have watched her growth in the W-League and she is versatile and a great character. We are excited to welcome her when she joins up with the squad.”
Foord is currently in China preparing for an Olympic qualifier with Australia.
The Australian striker is a well-travelled and experienced player. The 25-year-old has already played in three World Cups with her first tournament selection as far back as 2011 when she was just 16. As such, Foord has 77 caps and 17 goals for her country.
Foord played her first league game in Australia back in 2010, so arrives with 10 years of first team experience behind her and 202 first team appearances in her locker.
It is interesting to note that she has also played in three different leagues: Australia, USA and Japan with six different clubs. When she is finally announced as an Arsenal player that will make seven clubs in four countries just two months into her 25th year.
