German outlet Bild reported on Friday morning that Xhaka could soon leave to play in the Bundesliga again. They claim the midfielder already informed his current teammates about the move.

ESPN sources claim Xhaka is already in talks with Hertha Berlin over a move. Sky Sports also report Hertha want to sign the midfielder in a deal with a “financially sensible package”.

The Telegraph suggest Arsenal could sanction a move, even at a loss compared to his £35m transfer to the club. That fits with ESPN’s claims of a fee in the region of €20-30m.

Swiss outlet Blick carry quotes from Xhaka’s agent Jose Noguera, only to say: “I generally do not comment on rumours.”

Blick suggest a loan with an option to buy is also possible. Entrepreneur Lars Windhorst recently took over at Hertha Berlin, which could lead to a cash injection for transfers like this one.

Of course, it’s common for one outlet to report a story like this and the rest to follow suit. Most of them are just reporting the same information at this stage.

Reports in Italy suggest AC Milan could also show an interest. January isn’t too far away to provide some answers.
