Dasilva is making a really good impression with Brentford at the moment, but even his biggest supporters probably didn’t expect how impressive he’s been in front of goal.

The defensive midfielder scored a hat-trick against Luton Town on Saturday, bringing his total to six goals for the season. He also provided an assist in a whirlwind first half that saw Brentford race into a 5-0 lead.

The game slowed down in the second, but a couple of penalties – one from Dasilva to complete his hat-trick – saw the match finish 7-0.

The former Gunner wrote that he was “absolutely buzzing” after the game, which moved Brentford up to seventh in the table. They’re now just a point or two away from the playoff places -depending on Preston’s result in their game in hand.

It took a long while for the midfielder to get into the Brentford team after his transfer in the summer of 2018. By this time last year, he’d only played 45 minutes in all competitions for the senior side.

Dasilva has had to be patient, but it’s going to be difficult to imagine him not being a key part of the team for the rest of the season in this kind of form.
