Alexandre Lacazette, Mesut Ozil, Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang and Lucas Torreira seem unlikely to be Arsenal players this time next year and the decisions made around the Manchester City game seemed to clarify that and a number of others who could go.

We’ve known for some time that neither Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang nor Alexandre Lacazette have any interest in signing a new Arsenal deal given the absolute state of us.

With just one year left on his contract this summer, that means we will absolutely sell Aubameyang this summer, if not before.

Lacazette will have two years left but he’s already been shown he’s second choice behind Aubameyang and, when needing goals against City on Sunday, Freddie turned to Emile Smith Rowe and Joe Willock, leaving him on the bench where he spent the Premier League match against West Ham too.

Lucas Torreira’s agent has already expressed his displeasure at how his client was being used by Arsenal and he was replaced by Joe Willock.

We know the club want to adjust the profile of the team towards a more youthful model but it seems to me, from the outside with no inside information whatsoever, that the club are actively looking to shift at least three of these four, if not more.

We’ve known they’ve wanted Mesut Ozil gone ever since they agreed to his massive payhike. What must he be feeling this week after the club issued a statement, to their shame, dissociating themselves from him before Freddie subbed him off for a 19-year-old?

The reaction to my tweet about these players leaving was not even mixed. Most seemed less than bothered with Auba the player most cared about. Lucas probably came second.

A few others could join them in leaving as well.

Bernd Leno is already being coveted in Germany while Sead Kolasinac would be no big loss. We still don’t know what’s going to happen with Granit Xhaka, Dani Ceballos will go back to Madrid and Shkodran Mustafi will surely finally be sold.

What do we do with Sokratis? David Luiz?

That’s a full 11 players who either do or could have an eye on the door.

If we thought the last season-and-a-half have seen upheaval, I’ve a funny feeling, we’re only getting started…
