This is, of course, not the first time that Vlad Dragomir has been linked with a move to Serie A since leaving Arsenal. The rumours were strong last summer but, in the end, he signed for Perugia on a free transfer after reportedly turning down a new deal on offer from Arsenal.

According to Seriebnews.com, Bologna, Cagliari, and Udinese are all keen on the attacking midfielder who could be available for as little as €3m when the transfer window opens in January.

Dragomir is under contract until 2021 with Perugia where he has made 46 appearances, scoring one and assisting six.

Once dubbed ‘Mesut Ozil’s heir’ by the press in Romania, Dragomir was signed by Arsenal for €115,000 but released last summer when the new management team came in.

It was claimed at the time he would be unlikely to make it as a first-team regular at the club and Unai Emery and co. made the decision to let him leave however Dragomir’s account of what happened differs quite significantly.
