William Saliba has been singing the praises of his new manager, Claude Puel, after a weekend when the defender really stood out.

As you can read here in our exclusive player report, William Saliba has a brilliant weekend.

His former coach has also been singing his praises but it was the teenager himself who was dishing out the compliments after the weekend’s results.

“For the moment, with the arrival of Claude Puel, we have not had a defeat, that’s good,” Saliba told L’Equipe.

“We had nil results but without defeat, that’s good. We must continue to stay that way especially since we have not taken a goal today.

“The coach has just arrived and his methods will pay little by little. At half-time, when we commit bad things, he tells us what to do. We try to follow his advice and it pays.

“He gives us a lot of advice, to everyone but especially to young people.”
