Josh Dasilva pulled off a fantastic piece of skill to create a clear cut opportunity for Brentford FC against QPR on Monday night, keeping his run in the team going.

Dasilva was a key part of the Arsenal u23 side that won the Premier League 2 title back in 2017/18, along with Eddie Nketiah, Reiss Nelson and others.

Whilst Nketiah and Nelson chose to extend their deals with Arsenal and wait for an opportunity, defensive midfielder Dasilva moved on permanently to Brentford in the Championship.

Things didn’t all go to plan at first, as the youngster didn’t get a league start for Brentford until seven months after joining, in March 2019. Since then, he’s started to make his mark on the team, and he’s carried that form into the new season.

Starting four of the last five league games and scoring twice, Dasilva is really starting to impress with his new club. He caught the eye against QPR on Monday with a fantastic piece of individual skill before creating a great chance:

Under pressure from both sides, Dasilva flicked the ball out from under his feet to get away from his markers. He then feinted one way before shifting the ball the other and playing a fantastic through ball to the Brentford forward. It’s just a shame it didn’t result in a goal.

With Brentford now on a run of three consecutive wins thanks to Dasilva’s influence, it’s likely he’ll continue to get games in the team. Good luck to him for a positive season!
