Real Madrid are considering a move for Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang in January, provided Arsenal accept a reasonable transfer fee plus player deal.

That’s according to Spanish outlet Sport, who begin by stating that Aubameyang has been offered (presumably by his agents) to Barcelona in every recent summer, though last season’s La Liga champions have never entered into serious negotiations to sign him.

With Barcelona’s reluctance to make a move, Real Madrid are now considering the possibility of adding the player to their ranks, as long as Arsenal agree to the above conditions of a player plus cash deal. They’re unhappy with how summer signing Luka Jovic has performed so far.

Sport add that Aubameyang himself wants the change, in order to join a club he can win titles with.

Obviously, Aubameyang’s strong recent form is going to generate interest from some of Europe’s top clubs. Last year’s Premier League Golden Boot winner has nine goals in 14 appearances so far this season.

At the same time, that’s exactly why Arsenal aren’t going to accept a cut-price deal. Everyone at the club knows how important Aubameyang has been to every positive result Unai Emery’s side have achieved this season.

Madrid would have to offer a top player along with a decent fee to be convincing. This rumour seems unlikely to lead to anything for now, particularly in January.
