Fulham 2-2 Arsenal u18s

The Arsenal u18s continued their struggles to put a good run of form together with another draw on Saturday, but in this case, it was more understandable away to a good Fulham side who sat top of the table after the match.

Terry Ablade gave the hosts the lead in the 21st minute, before a Luca Murphy own goal got Arsenal back into the game just before half-time. It was an even first half, with Fulham having nine shots to the visitors’ eight, and Arsenal just edging the shots on target with three versus two.

The game remained even in the second half, with Jay Stansfield restoring Fulham’s lead in the 56th minute, which only lasted for three minutes as Daniel Oyegoke equalised again, assisted by Charlie Patino.

Patino only turned 16 last month, and he was making his second consecutive start in midfield for the u18s.

Arsenal brought on Alfie Matthews in the 74th minute and Catalin Cirjan in the 85th, but they couldn’t find a winner.

Arsenal u16s 5-0 Fulham

Things went a lot more smoothly for the Arsenal u16s, as they have been for much of the season so far.

Remy Mitchell kept a clean sheet in goal whilst Omari Hutchinson, Khayon Edwards, Marcelo Flores, Brooke Norton-Cuffy and Mauro Bandeira all got on the scoresheet, with Edwards, Flores and Zane Monlouis providing assists.

Edwards will be particularly pleased with his goal and assist after he received a scholarship offer from the club this week, which we exclusively revealed he intends to accept.

Edwards also captained the side in the second half, taking over from Hutchinson. Below is Hutchinson’s goal:
