Lucas Torreira isn’t entirely satisfied with his current role in the Arsenal team, and he’s planning a meeting to sort out his future with the club.

That’s according to Italian outlet TuttoMercatoWeb, who claim Torreira is not having a good time at Arsenal. They say he’s a ‘bit dissatisfied’ with how things are going for him at the club, and he appears to be unhappy with his adventure in England so far.

A meeting is planned for next week to discuss the topic, and if Torreira isn’t satisfied then he could leave the club in January. AC Milan are the favourites to take advantage if that happens.

At the start of the season, you could understand if Torreira wasn’t happy with how things were going. He only made two starts in Arsenal’s first 10 Premier League games, although he has started five of six in the Europa League and the League Cup.

Perhaps the injury to Dani Ceballos and Granit Xhaka’s potential departure could change things though. Suddenly, Torreira has more responsibility in the squad, and he’s likely to spend a lot more time in the starting lineup in the coming weeks and potentially beyond.

If the reports of a meeting next week are true, Unai Emery and his team could justifiably make the argument that Torreira is set to get a chance to prove himself now. If he does so, then there’s no reason he wouldn’t be able to hold onto his place in the team for the long term.
