Hubert Graczyk kept a clean sheet on his debut for the England u18s in a 1-0 win over the Czech Republic on Monday, with Sam Greenwood and Miguel Azeez also featuring from the bench.

Hubert Graczyk has seen himself race through the ranks with England this year, having started out with the u16s. In fact, he only made his debut with the u17s in mid-October, but just a month later he was starting for the u18s against the Czech Republic.

Part of that is because he’s started to break into the Arsenal u18 team, making four starts and three more squad appearances this campaign so far. He’s clearly also impressed the England youth bosses over the international breaks though.

England dominated on Monday, and they should have won by more than just 1-0, but Graczyk still had a couple of important saves to make. He posted a video of one of them to his Instagram page (click to scroll to the right to see it).

Graczyk has also trained with the Arsenal first-team on one or two occasions this season. That isn’t particularly surprising for a goalkeeper, given they’re often in short supply and one or two injuries or international call-ups leaves you needing backups. Still, it’s great experience for him.

Back to Monday, Sam Greenwood and Miguel Azeez both came on at half-time to help secure the win, making it two wins and a draw for the break overall. Graczyk’s appearance was the only one of the three games England kept a clean sheet in. Congratulations to him!
