Three Arsenal players left Anfield ‘walking a little gingerly’ but it’s believed to be nothing serious.

James Olley of the Evening Standard reports that after Arsenal’s 5-5 clash with Liverpool (losing 5-4 on penalties), Ainsley Maitland-Niles, Joe Willock and Sead Kolasinac all left the stadium seemingly carrying bumps and bruises.

Kolasinac is probably the biggest cause for concern, as he did appear to have a minor injury of some description when he came off. It’s not a huge problem if the trio do need to take a match off though, as they were unlikely to start against Wolves anyway.

The good news is that Gabriel Martinelli wasn’t mentioned in that list. The 18-year-old got battered all around the pitch as he scored twice in normal time, once in the shootout and chased down the Liverpool defence all night.

Despite going down after heavy challenges on a couple of occasions, Martinelli always got back up again, and it appears he’s survived the night without any major problems.

After 11 changes for the League Cup clash at Anfield, we’re likely to see 11 more for the Wolves match. Perhaps the likes of Özil, Martinelli and Torreira are starting to push for deserved league starts now though.
