Folarin Balogun will miss tonight’s Europa League match against Standard Liege with injury, but he’s not expected to be out for long.

After scoring his seventh goal in seven Premier League 2 matches over the weekend, assisted by Hector Bellerin, Balogun looked likely to at least make the squad for Arsenal’s home game against Liege on Thursday.

The striker was on the bench for the League Cup last week, and he likely would’ve made his first-team debut if not for the injury to Emile Smith Rowe.

Unfortunately, Balogun has picked up a knock keeping him out of tonight’s game. Daily Cannon have been informed that the injury is nothing serious, and he should only be out for a week. His absence from youth games and senior matches is just as a precaution.

Those in the Balogun camp are still feeling positive about the coming months, believing there will be plenty of senior opportunities this season after his fantastic start to the campaign.

As well as his seven goals in seven PL2 appearances this season, Balogun also has four assists, as he’s developed a good partnership with Tyreece John-Jules up front.

The duo have been carrying the u23 side somewhat this season, so it’s a shame they’ve both picked up injuries right as they might have been able to make the step up to the first team. There will certainly be more chances if Arsenal get a good result on Thursday night though.
