The midfielder, who has been the talk of the internet this week after declaring his love for Arsenal and offering a massive hint that he would like to remain at the club longer than just one season, has picked up a bit of a muscle injury no sooner had he finished saying ‘Arsenal DNA’.

AS in Spain report it as a hamstring overload that also kept him out of Wednesday’s morning session and has him listed as a doubt for the game against Norway on Saturday.

The Spain medical team performed an MRI scan on Tuesday, declaring it merely an ‘overload’ rather than anything more serious.

Although AS are reporting him as a doubt, in the same piece they also write that he is expected to recover well enough to be counted on this weekend. They also report that Spain’s manager’s plan is to start him next week against Sweden, anyway.

Ceballos has played 566 minutes for Arsenal this season, fewer that Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang (821), Bernd Leno (720), Sokratis (720), David Luiz (720), Matteo Guendouzi (709), and Granit Xhaka (702).
