For those who don’t know, the Arsenal u23s play at least a couple of games at the Emirates Stadium every year. Their main ground is Meadow Park, but twice a season they get the chance to step out onto the pitch at N5 in front of a few thousand home fans.

As a result, even though he hasn’t made his competitive senior debut, John-Jules has played at the Emirates for the u23s on four occasions. He faced Tottenham Hotspur and Leicester City last season, and Everton and Leicester this year, scoring in all four matches.

In total, the 18-year-old has five goals and two assists in four u23 games at the Emirates:

The striker is set to be involved with the team on Tuesday night, as Unai Emery plans to rotate fully from the win over Aston Villa.

It’s not clear yet whether the striker will start or make the bench, and he also has the free-scoring Folarin Balogun to compete with. Balogun has six goals and four assists in six games for the u23s in his first full season at that level.

If John-Jules does get a chance though, he’ll certainly be feeling confident about his chances to make an impact at what’s becoming his favourite ground to play at.
